There is a lot of noise out there and sometimes it’s hard to know if you are truly connecting with the human behind a small business, or if they have copied and paste how they think you should be connecting using AI. And sometimes it’s very obvious!
We write our newsletter and blog posts ourselves instead of using AI. Why? Because we love writing it and sharing our unique point of view – something that is harder to come by these days with the uptake in AI generated content we see everywhere, even where it serves the business at the expense of providing real value for their community.
With the increased popularity of AI, where does it make sense to lean on it vs leaning on your own unique perspective instead?
Content
In: Use AI to brainstorm topic ideas for your content.
Out: Using it to write your website copy. The personal connection should be genuine – use this as a chance to stand out and share your expertise and differentiate yourself from the crowd. Your audience wants to know what you think.
Images & photos
In: Use AI to fill in gaps in your brand images – like seasonal backgrounds for product or team shots, or the occasional blog image that needs an element or object you don’t have in an image.
Out: Using AI generated images as a replacement for brand photos. People want to connect with you and your images are the first thing they see. If the photos feel artificial it is harder to build a strong, genuine connection. Also out: using overly lavish images that are obviously AI-generated and don’t fit in with your brand vibe.
Logos
In: Using AI to generate ideas during your brainstorming phase or using it to see what it would generate for your industry as a starting point to help you know what to avoid, so you can differentiate and stand out.
Out: Using an AI generated logo that you may not technically own, or be able to trademark. Thinking that an AI generated logo will help you save money and create an elevated professional brand identity.
We are bombarded with messaging constantly. Do you want to be part of the noise, or a breath of fresh air with your unique perspective?
