Following our design trends to look out for in 2024, we are also sharing our website trends to watch.

The use of AI to improve the user experience (UX) of a website

While I firmly believe AI won’t be replacing the need for a qualified web team any time soon, I do think in 2024 we’ll see a lot more AI-driven website features that will improve the user journey (both for the site owner and visitors). We’ll see this through:

  • Increased editing capabilities and content control for site owners
  • AI-powered search capabilities that provide a more personalized web experience for visitors
  • Greater usage of ChatBots that can provide customized responses to visitors, which can help streamline purchasing decisions

A continued focus on mobile-first design

  • Websites catering more to the mobile experience as mobile web browsing continues to grow
  • A greater focus on prioritizing content over animations and visual glitz and glam

A bigger emphasis on web accessibility

  • To ensure users of all abilities are able to interact with a website
  • A greater consideration of accessibility from the very start of a project
